Educator and musician James W. Keefe holds a doctorate in Secondary Education from the University of Southern California and undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and Music. He has taught at every level from middle school through college and was a choral educator and school administrator in Downey, CA.

He has taught at the University of Southern California and Loyola Marymount, both in Los Angeles, and is the former Director of Research for the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
Dr. Keefe has performed with the madrigal group Musica Concordia, the chamber choir VOCE, both in Reston, Virginia, and continues to sing tenor with the Reston Chorale, a large community choir for which he also occasionally arranges music. He is the author of more than 60 books, major research studies, articles, and assessment tools, as well as numerous choral arrangements. This is his first publication with Kandinsky Music.
